This place was amazing! Great service incredible room. The only thing i would say could be improved upon is the service was quite slow. But over all a great experience! I'd definately suggest going if you can.
Wonderful warm and friendly welcome. The upper-level rooms are set in native bush and feel like you’re staying in a tree-hut. Spotless and comfortable. The location is perfect - 5-minute stroll to great cafes and restaurants. For a slightly more energetic walk I highly recommend a 15-minute climb up to the pa site lookout via the beautiful bush walk behind the motel, for absolutely stunning views over the harbour and across the Firth of Thames to Waiheke Island.
Sue the manager was absolutely fabulous. The room was very clean, bed very comfortable and had everything you need in the kitchenette. It's a 5 minute walk into Coromandel town which is small but has a great pub and restaurant, coffee shops, pharmacy and health centre. Lots of beautiful scenery and plenty to see and places to visit.
We never met the proprietor as we arrived after reception closed, and dropped the key in the morning. This was no issue as the key and clear instructions were available for the lodge. It is a convenient walk into town, where there are lovely cafes and a nice restaurant. I can't comment about facilities as we arrived 8pm and left 9am to continuebour journey. However had we more time I would have extended my stay.
Had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances and appealed to motel owners for a refund on compassionate grounds 2 weeks out from our booking. Motel refused. You're better off finding somewhere else to stay.nnUPDATE TO REPLY: I have now said to you FOUR TIMES that I had to cancel the holiday and CANNOT CHANGE THE DATES. I'm not really sure how much clearer I can make this. You have done absolutely nothing to be helpful, and if you like I can post photos of our conversation with you saying I cannot cancel, despite the fact I am two weeks out of the booking - contrary to the rubbish you are trying to spin to save face in your reply!! I have screenshotted your response about the 2 weeks policy, given today is two weeks and you should be honouring the cancellation request. I will be elevating this higher with the booking company and asking my bank to block charges from you at this stage.nnLET THIS BE A WARNING FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR BOOK HERE!! You can see from the multiple bad reviews with the owner arguing in the comments of every single one that this place is not worth your time or money!!
