What a perfect way to wrap up a hard day of biking! Our group of four hit Amigos in Wānaka during March 2025 for Taco Tuesday, and the whole experience was absolutely spot-on. From the warm greeting at the door through to the incredible food and drinks, everything was outstanding.nnWe’re huge fans of Mexican food and have tried just about every spot around—but Amigos truly stood out. The drinks were refreshing, the tacos were delicious, and every bite was spot on. Special shoutout to the staff who were welcoming, friendly, and made the evening even better.nnHighly recommend making this your go-to spot for Taco Tuesday!

Tacos were surprisingly delicious and large portion sizes. They have a ton of options, so there truly is a taco or other menu item for everyone. Great option for a casual lunch in Wanaka.
Tried several soft tacos. Creative recipes. Some I liked, some didn't- a matter of personal taste, I think they were good overall but for some reason the tortillas were cold. Perhaps best way to order is one by one instead of 3 at a time or the chefs need to heat up tortilla more. However at $6 per taco on Taco Tuesday - excellent value. I had one of the best margaritas in my life there - I will come back to this place later in my trip just to have one more.
The soft tacos are delicious and the margaritas are dangerously tasty. Every taco that we tried was tasty and had the perfect amount of filling. I was never a fan of margaritas until I tried Amigos. I can’t remember the name of the daily special I tried, but it was incredible! The outdoor seating was really nice and had a gorgeous view of Wanaka. We will definitely be back next time we’re in NZ!
