We had visited Amigos one year back and recently got another opportunity- during a day trip to Wanaka. We started with dip platter with corn chips, which was excellent and well presented. Thereafter we shared 2 mains between 3 of us: - a vegetarian fajita - a cauliflower soft taco Both were well presented and delicious. The service was prompt and the atmosphere was excellent for a family. The 2 alcoholic drinks were very well made too! I will be happy to dine here again. The most popular restaurant in town and of course for a good reason. I’d highly recommend the wagyu and the roasted silica tacos over spicy spicy margaritas. The flavours were great in the tacos. The cocktail was so spicy and refreshing to drink. The prices of the menu items are standard considering the good quality food. The service by the staff was alright considering how busy they remain especially during the peak holiday period. The vibe is just superb with a great view of the mountains and just a stone’s throw distance from the lake Wanaka.
We had the quesadilla and a bunch of tacos to share, the food was decent. Plenty of gluten free options on the menu, but they use a shared fryer, so for Celiacs, anything fried isn't safe that includes their nacho chips. Quick and friendly service.Food: 4/5
Had a fantastic time at Amigos. Food was next level, like a fiesta in my mouth. Cocktails? Legit. Staff? Super chill and friendly. If you're into awesome Mexican grub, good drinks, and a laid-back vibe, this spot's your jam.Food: 5/5
Always an all-time favourite for when visiting Wānaka. A really energetic vibe. Great food, paired with awesome drinks and always excellent service. Taco Tuesdays is a must visit. We come here, time and time again, and it never disappoints, highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Came here for lunch and the specials were a great value. Had some tacos which were delicious and much needed after a long travel day! We sat on the patio and enjoyed the sun, the glass was appreciated to keep the wind away. Not too busy. Service was nothing special. We would go back for the yummy tacos and great lunch deals.Food: 5/5
Went here twice. It's always packed, I recommend making a booking early even if it's in the middle of the week - surprising. The food was fantastic, I enjoyed the fish tacos which I had the first time. Recommended for this place - grab a beer and finger food to share. Then order 4 random tacos each which will be enough. Will be back in the near future, really like this place
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the food was quick and tasty. Great variety of taco options, most of which were very good. However, losing a point because I splurged for one of the expensive options- the carne asada- and the steak was tough and stringy. Also the guacamole portion was pretty small for $16. Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options for my husband!
Very nice place. Super good and fast service, they were very friendly from minute one. The food was very delicious, we ordered some tacos and they were delicious, the squid 10/10. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Great spot for some delicious Mexican food if you are looking for a different vibe than the restaurants along the waterfront! We ordered the fried chicken and baja fish taco as well as the fajitas - the fajitas were the highlight. The tacos were delicious also but in my opinion it’s slightly overpriced for what you get. We also got a couple of drinks and they were really nice!
