We had such a great meal at Amigos and left very full and very happy. Everything we ordered was fresh, generous, and packed with flavour.nnThe nachos were absolutely amazing and easily one of the best we’ve had in a long time. Perfectly layered so you’re not just eating dry chips at the bottom, with plenty of toppings, great seasoning, and a really satisfying balance of textures. They were loaded without being messy and every bite actually tasted like something, which is surprisingly rare with nachos.nnThe tacos were also excellent. We tried a few different options and they were all really solid, but the chicken and burger tacos were the clear favourites at the table. The chicken taco was juicy, well seasoned, and paired really nicely with the toppings and sauce. The burger taco was unexpectedly great, really hearty and full of flavour, and felt like a fun twist without being gimmicky. You could tell the fillings were cooked properly and not rushed.nnPortion sizes were generous without being overwhelming, and everything came out looking appetising and well put together. It’s the kind of food that feels indulgent but still well balanced.nnThe atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it an easy place to settle in and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. It’s a great option whether you’re stopping in for a casual lunch or a laid back dinner.nnOverall, Amigos absolutely delivers. Amazing nachos, great tacos, and particularly standout chicken and burger tacos. We’d happily return and would confidently recommend it to anyone visiting Cromwell and looking for reliably delicious food.

Amigos in Cromwell is a total gem! The nachos, cauliflower tacos, and fish tacos are all outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Anderson was wonderful — so welcoming and took the time to ask about our dietary preferences, which made the whole experience even better. Great vibe, friendly staff, and an awesome spot for a casual dinner with a little kick.
Amigos does it again! After absolutely loving the Wanaka location, we decided to randomly pop into this one and it did not disappoint. The fish tacos were incredible perfectly cooked, fresh, and packed with flavour. Johnny really made the visit special, serving up fantastic drinks and keeping the vibe lively with his great banter. The atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming and fun, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Everything from the food to the service felt top-notch. We hope the owner here looks after his great staff they have. Definitely a restaurant we’ll be returning to again and again!
