Butch and Sharon really are the most amazing hosts and Amberlea a fabulous place to stay. Immaculately clean, their beautiful house is as warm and inviting as they are.nnFrom airport pick up and drop off, to letting us stay on and use the facilities when the weather turned bad, they really go above and beyond to make your stay a perfect one.nnThe cooked breakfast was wonderful and added things like biscuits etc in the shared lounge made this feel more like staying with old friends than a bnb.nnSo highly recommended and will certainly come again when in Hokitika.
Easily my family’s favourite place we’ve had the pleasure of staying at on our New Zealand trip. The most lovely hosts, and such sweet pets as well! Our rooms were perfect and we enjoyed the most incredible breakfast as well. Would highly recommend Amberlea to anyone wanting to stay in Hokitika.

Sharon and Butch were such lovely hosts. They were super welcoming and gave a number of helpful suggestions on activities and places to eat. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed.nWill be back for Coast to Coast at some point and will make a point of staying with them!
What a great find! Lovely accommodation. Immaculately clean, well equipped and in a nice quiet area. We only stayed one night but would have been very comfortable staying longer! Super comfy beds, plenty of pillows and linen. Highly recommend :
