I stay in Christchurch for work and have stayed in multiple caravan parks. Amber Park is by far my favorite. It's super clean and Tidy, miles above the rest. The kitchen has everything you need. The bathroom facilities are clean. Great showers. The rec room is very comfortable. and the staff are very friendly and are more then happy to point you in the direction of anything you need locally.
Nice spot with good facilities. Bus top just out front that takes you to middle of Christchurch cathedral, new regent etc in 20 mins for $2.10 which is great! Slightly tight around the site to navigate larger vehicles however
Highly recommend this one, we are in our 6 ppl campervan, its so beautiful, and the stuff are amazing, clean and neat everywhere. I would stay here next time. Great location too, walking distance to the shopping center, many good restaurants choices.
Amber park is fantastic. It is a beautifully kept camping ground with immaculate gardens. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is a real oasis in Christchurch.Service: 5/5

Very disappointed with this place, as we had paid for a booking for a disabled person and I was about to make another booking for myself, when the owner Braden refunded our deposit. We figured he had decided to charge someone else more and kick us out, very unfairly. On top of this they had charged an extra 2% on credit card, without any warning. I was made various promises that someone would send me pictures of the accomodation for the disabled person which had a ramp...but this never eventuated. In fact we were left high and dry with some form of strange excuse by the owner, who decided to refund our deposit after we had already booked one disabled room and I was about to book another. It was most unfair ... and we believe the owner decided to charge someone else more after we had paid... the owner made himself very unavailable, instead of explaining why he had acted unfairly. We believe he was motivated purely by greed, in our opinion, rather than welcoming new guests. Very unhappy indeed, as the location looked interesting, but not the first hand treatment. People of course want to feel welcome, especially if they are paying and this place is clearly becoming unwelcoming to guests in our recent opinion and experience, sadly. The reply from the owner was in my opinion highly defamatory, and/or they couldn't grasp the fact that I needed an extra room by a certain date, otherwise the whole booking would have to be cancelled. Communications were so poor, and each time I called, I got strange excuses... it is your "attitude, in my opinion, that has been incredibly surprising and rather bizarre", rather than the other way around. Whatever you mentioned, is pure invention from your part, which I find highly defamatory and wrongfully accusatory, and why? The only thing I can think of is you wanted to make more money out of the international market, instead of the local one. This is the only explanation, in my personal opinion, for cancelling us when we had already put a deposit forward. Usually when such things happen, there is greed involved... it is my personal opinion, from this very unhelpful and sad experience, involving a disabled person, and his caregiver needing a second room, for respite. Your staff was making so many excuses instead of being helpful, and were so slow to get back to me, and you Bredan were unwilling come on the phone, and bizarrely out of the blue the following monday, they decided to cancel the booking. I think you guys are either overworked or cannot comprehend something as simple as the requirement we had to get a second booking, by a certain date... Not to cancel it when we got it. This is totally ridiculous. Sadly this experience was so poor, and the fact that I was promised a photo of the ramp, which never came through after various requests. I hope the owner now understands where his misunderstandings went wrong, but since he didn't want to discuss the second booking we were needing, and each time I called he was interestingly unavailable... I have to presume and/or support, he made up all this little scenario to cancel our booking, very helpful to a disabled person, so that he could make more profit from international people, in my opinion. Whatever reply he gave, is far fetched, and absolutely wrong and defamatory. I think an apology for his misinterpreting and stating false, misinformation, from a booking which never eventuated, as it is truly pure invention and/or afairy tale, this owner came up with, amazingly is damaging to me/us.. Further more, no herbal teas most motels do over this nowadays, and charges 2% extra on credit cards... that's pure greed, indeed... it should be absorbed by the business.... not added as extra for the customer to absorb... total lack of business sense, in my opinion... I usually like to give good reviews that are fair but when there is a lack of helpfulness and particularly when dealing with disability, I am sorry that I cannot give the good review I was wanting to give, as this experience was truly a very bad one :

Nice facilities and hassle free check in/check out for a motorhome. Good location for visiting Christchurch.
