Fantastic hospitality. This is our second time at Amano and it really delivered this time. We walked in for a bit to eat after a show, the restaurant was full but the host was very informative and sat us on a booked table that gave us enough time to have dinner. Our daughter is super picky but ate a whole bowl of creamy pasta that the chefs made specifically for her. This is so important, it took the stress away from us having to figure put what she will eat. We went for pasta and some snacks. I got the pasta with truffles as they are in season and it was very well priced. Everything was fresh, quick and delicious. I loved the fresh sodas that are made in-house. And we didn’t feel like we’ve spent too much, so totally worth it. Service was warm, interactive and made us feel welcome. Thanks to Alex for making this one of the best dining experiences as of late.
Amazing, the decor is so beautiful and the vibe is just right. Service is 10/10, such friendly and personable staff, always filling up your water a key sign of good service. The food is divine!!!! So well cooked and the flavours coming together. The wine list is fabulous and staff are knowledgeable about pairing with your meal! the cocktails are all unique! Highly recommend this place.
This is the prettiest place I’ve been to so far. With aesop soap & hand cream in the bathrooms, marble bar tops and delicious noodles, it was a very pleasant experience. However, once we tried to order some more bread and butter, the waitress seemed like she was annoyed with us. Speaking of the bread, it was amazing with the butter and the sea flakes! The noodles were good, portions were good as well. The clams were juicy and delicious.
The food was well-prepared and flavorful, especially their burrata which is my all-time favorite. The quality of the food has always been good and stable, and the staff provided great service throughout my meal. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, although a bit loud at times. While I enjoyed my meal, I wish they had more gluten-free options on the menu, especially with pasta. Nonetheless, this is one of the best Italian you can find in Auckland, don't missed out!
One of the best meals we had in Auckland. The restaurant interior is beautiful, staff very polite and helpful. It was very busy, definitely recommend booking a table in advance so you don't miss out. We didn't feel rushed between our courses and were asked if we wanted time to wait between. Food came out in good time. Delicious cocktails. Cannot wait to visit again.

I usually have a coffee and a lemon tart to take away from Amano, and today I had first dining experience there. Food was so good, oysters were so fresh! A bit surprised that monkfish was off the menu as I was so looking forward to trying it, I think they update their menu often cos I’m pretty sure it was on the menu last weekend. Staff were friendly and professional, also loved the fact they wiped the table before they served dessert cutlery and plates. Will definitely return again!
Great food, a bit on the pricier end of things but the ambience was amazing. Very good mood and seating. The restaurant was very new and clean. Staff were very friendly and efficient, great service. The bathrooms were very modern, clean and new. The food was very delicious too.
Delicious food but slow service. Could have been because they were busy. For starter I had straciatella with asparagus and almond which was delicious. It was served with bread and was served very quickly. I was recommended very good wines to pair by the bartender. I then unfortunately had to wait 1h for the main to be served I knew this exactly from when I took the photo of my starter. The main, which was pasta with scampi, was delicious and hot but the wait time was incredibly long, especially that some other people at the bar who ordered after me were served first which I thought was not nice. Definitely delicious food but questionable speed of service depending on the day.
I went to Amano four years ago and it quickly became my favorite restaurant in Auckland. I was looking forward, 4 years later, to visit the restaurant again expecting it to still be my favorite place in Auckland. Unfortunately, it fell short. The food is still very good but it missed the excellence level it had a few years ago. Still recommend it for a great dinner out!
