Alyx's Sweet Bakery is a new Bakery in the Newlands Mall. Our qualified bakers will be producing many of your favourite sweet treats, home made pies and an expanding range of Vegan and GF delights. We are also taking orders for specialist cakes.



"Fresh and new to Newlands, Alyx's Sweet Bakery caters to your favourite sweet tooth cupcakes, slices and scones, savoury pies and 'those' so tasty sausage rolls! All home made in the bakery by our qualified and talented baker Alyx, and her willing 'kitchen hand' Joy aka mum. Everyday will be different as we try new recipes and expand our range of GF and Vegan treats. Specialty cakes are also catered for. Alyx has always created seriously delicious cakes for us, every time we trusted her with a project! Alyx is a very talented baker who made the most beautiful and delicious cake I could ever ask for my baby shower! It was very easy to work with her as I showed her an inspiration of the cake that I wanted and she did it a 100x better! Great value for the cakes and she's also very artistic, she combines flavors really well! Good work and keep it going!!
I don't think I have ever been to a bakery that has come this close to perfecting the "home cooked" hattrick of presentation, taste and texture as well as Alyx has. I had a mince and cheese pie which has probably ruined all other pies for me forever. The cheese scone was light and fluffy yet very cheesy and toasted perfectly. The vegan cupcake! I never knew vegan food could be so good. Moist and flavourful. We are incredibly lucky to have such a gem in Newlands. My only regret is I only have 5 stars to give.

Steak n Cheese pie square format; excellent pastry perfectly browned, strong filling game - lots of meaty steak and a good spread of cheese. This is a ‘go-out-of-your-way’ to get it kinda pie. Nice work!
Bought a brownie from there today, nice and fluffy, full of chocolate but not too rich at the same time. Wish I had known about this place sooner
