Situated just 10 minutes from the lovely friendly township of Waipu in Northland New Zealand, you will love this welcoming home with all the modern conveniences but with an old farmhouse feel to it. This is a working farm breeding wonderful, unique suri alpaca and your hosts Mark & Pav Stacey would be only too pleased to give you the opportunity to hand feed these amazing animals.

Accommodation is self contained in one "wing" of this eco friendly house. You have a bedroom with Queen sized bed, a bathroom with walk in shower and under floor heating, separate toilet, kitchen and sitting room with TV and Wi-Fi. The sitting room has wonderful views of the bush clad valley and has a comfortable double sofabed that is suitable for couples with children. The bedroom and sitting room both have french doors on to the sunny, sheltered north facing patio.
Continental breakfast can be provided with home baked bread, fresh fruit, meat and cheese. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax then you have found it. Open the curtains in the morning and look out over the pond to the alpacas grazing in the paddock.
Situated half way between Auckland and the beautiful Bay of Islands, this is the perfect place to stay on your first night in New Zealand before heading off to explore the far North. The wonderful Bream Bay beaches are only 10 minutes away with horse riding on the farm below us. There are numerous local sights that should not be missed including the Waipu caves with their incredible glow worms. You definitely have to visit Waipu. The museum boasts of being the best small museum in New Zealand and tells a fascinating story of the arrival of the Scottish people to Waipu. If you are here over New Year then you must go to the Highland Games attended by Scottish people from all over New Zealand with highland dancing and games where the whole family can participate.
There are plenty of local places to eat including the Pizza Barn in Waipu which serves excellent food at affordable prices, and the Cove Cafe at Waipu Cove as well as an excellent Indian restaurant. There are also 2 good cafes in the town open during the day. Alternatively, you can have a relaxing dinner with Mark and Pav that will have Kiwi, European and Sri Lankan flavours reflecting their family backgrounds. Please give us 48 hours notice if dinner is required with your accommodation.
