Reviews
Came here to watch a film after reading good reviews about this place. It definitely have a different vibe to a regular cinema. It is quite unique and the decor and everything makes the experience unforgettable. Only thing I didnt like was the carpark even though the park fee was included by the cinema as there weren't much spaces at all. However for visitors and locals, this place is worth a try.
Watched a movie there yesterday, comfy seats great mulled wine. This place is a christchurch treasure and should be your go to cinema. If you want to watch an old movie, rare or not, chances are they will have it on DVD for rent.
Very small and quaint theatre.. needs aircon, needs better popcorn... could hear a pin drop cos the theatre is so small.. popcorn for $3.90 no flavour quite small, need salt and butter and not gf popcorn as well... a popcorn machine would be a good investment, otherwise good experience love the history and enjoyed the movie I went to see. Thanks
This was my first time visiting this cinema and we were not disappointed. Small cozy and beautiful. Really enjoyed it.
Excellent selection very well curated and organised with extremely knowledgable staff. It’s amazing that DVD rental still exists but i agree with umpteen streaming channels and pricey internet connection, its good to get out of the house and find something worth your time.
Lovely place of nostalgia from my teen years. Massive range of dvds. Quant wee theatres. Only issue would be the range of food is limited and not many sugar free drink options.
I am so glad they have this great collection of DVDs - all good movies that otherwise are impossible to find. We also watched a movie there - the hall is bigger than expected with clean, good seats and good sound. Very few commercials.
We were in the Egyptian cinema, most of the time it was dine but towards the end of the movie we had this weird carpet-ripping sort of sound coming from behind and below us from somewhere else in the building. Was pretty distracting. Everything else was good.
A mind blowing selection of movies to hire and a very knowledgeable team. They frequently update their movies/services and they have a good selection of payment plans. Highly recommended.
Always a joy to view a film, and grab a coffee and/or ice cream. Great specials on during the week too! Knowledgeable staff.
