Alan and Julia Rhodes make distinctive New Zealand pottery, fired in gas and salt kilns, and a wood-fired pit kiln.
Alan and Julia Rhodes make distinctive New Zealand pottery, fired in gas and salt kilns, and a wood-fired pit kiln. They established their rural pottery on the Coromandel Peninsula in 1977 and were fortunate to discover a beautiful stoneware clay on their property that they dig and process themselves to make their pottery. They produce hand-thrown pots with magnificent glazes that are unique to the Coromandel Peninsula. All their pottery is handmade and fired in their studio and is ovenproof, microwave and dishwasher safe.
