Best food in Akaroa! We have been 3 times in the last month & loved it every time. I have tried the Butter Chicken, Pumpkin Curry, Beef Massamam Curry & the Beef Cheek - all flawless! Highly recommend to anyone visiting/living in Akaroa. We will continue to come back for more!

What an incredible experience! We are both vegan and had the pleasure of being served by Angie and another lady didn’t catch her name who helped us with the options. One of the most amazing meals we’ve ever had! Delicious and flavoursome. Highly recommend to anyone coming through Akaroa, with a serene environment. Thank you again! We will definitely be back!

My wife and love this place! The food was so good that we the second night we cancelled our booking at another restaurant and came back! The chef is inspired and the staff is great! If you like a bit of spice the goat curry is amazing, and when we mixed it with the pumpkin curry it was fantastic! Also, they are very gluten free friendly.

This restaurant offers wonderful Indian fusion meal full of traditional indian flavours and western delicacy. An outstanding customer service No matter how far you live you MUST come to this restaurant. It's worth to drive from Christchurch to Akaroa just only for a nice meal. We were in Akaroa for six days and ate here four times—it would have been five, but they were closed one evening. Everything we had was quite good, but the lamb shank, duck curry, and goat curry really stood out to me. And for dessert, the "Passion for Cardamom" was top-notch. If I'm ever in town again, I'll be going to Mandala for sure.

Honestly, this is the best restaurant to visit in Akaroa. The waitress of the night, was so lovely and friendly. We felt welcomed straightaway. Since we have 2 kids, one of our babies started to get unsettled so the waitress took the baby away to let us eat. We are so humbled by the lady's generosity to do that for us. The food is superb!! Well presented and DELICIOUS! and honestly, felt like home. They are very generous in their serving size, and went home with satisfied tummy. If any of my friends heading towards Akaroa, I definitely asked them to not miss the opportunity to visit this restaurant. Thank you so much to the waitress who was so helpful

Phenomenal restaurant. The flavors on menu were unique yet familiar. Great Indian dishes with a southeast Asian flair, and a really nice drink menu to pair. I had the goat curry and was not disappointed. Spice level was perfect for someone who likes a spicy dish, but didn’t compromise flavor for heat.Recommended dishesPani Puri, Goat Curry

A totally deserved five stars Shamika and team!! Our meal was beyond delicious with generous portions and a fantastic cocktail selection. Service was fast and friendly amongst an ambient atmosphere. The pork belly was the best I have ever eaten and my partner really enjoyed the duck which was cooked to perfection. This restaurant is a must when visiting Akaroa and is a fantastic asset to the dining scene on the Peninsula. We will be back again with friends to share this wonderful gastronomic experience with others. Parking: Plenty

Amazing food, setting and service! We ordered three different curry’s, all of which were generously sized and tasted wonderful. The pork belly was also ordered and was the best that had ever been tasted, the meat and crackling were cooked to perfection! Loved the samosa dessert too - all in all one of the best restaurants we’ve been to on the South Island!

We had an amazing dining experience at Mandala! Excellent service from the staff - very attentive. The food was delicious and they were able to cater really well to my partner's food allergies - even taking the time to go through the menu before we arrived and writing down which dishes they could make to cater to his allergies. We had the lamb cutlets, butter chicken and beef massaman and all of them were delicious. Will definitely return!
