Lovely spot, just a car park by the water really. Decently clean flushable toilets and sinks with soap not too far away. The little town has some cute shops and a four square for the essentials. Would recommend the nearby hikes, loop right back around to this site!nnStayed a second night 30+ nights later only allowed 2 in a 30 day period and a miserable woman in an Apollo van showed up at 6pm when it had been full for 2hrs already ranting about all the small cars self contained small campers taking all the spaces. Hope you read this, I had a lovely sleep - cheer up love.
Perfect spot for Freedom Camping. Be warned you have to get there EARLY. 18 marked parking bays and 2 night maximum stay. Self Contained Vehicles only.nnWe shared our parking bay with a lovely young couple and we also shared a meal together. The joys of travelling nnA short walk to the great shops, cafes and restaurants.
Fine as it’s close to Akaroa and we wanted a free site not too far from Christchurch for our first night in our van. It is just a car park though and there’s no view of the sea from the pitches. Toilets are a few minutes walk away and are quite dirty - they’re the public ones servicing the large town car park and some of the cafes - only one of each cubicle which isn’t really enough.
Freedom camp in Akaroa. Was full by 2pm. The toilets weren't very clean with no water in the gents. It's a short walk into town for shops, bars and cafes. Pretty quiet, and nice views over the bay
Good little free camp in Akaroa.nToilets nearby are clean.nEasy access to the town.
