The best boat tour I have been on. Local owners. Very knowledgeable about the area. He was able to direct us to see the dolphins, penguins, seals, and Albatross! His staff is very friendly and helpful. If you plan a trip to Akaroa, don't miss this!
Loved the Dolphin Watching cruise! Stu was a great captain and guide - learned a lot! The staff on the boat were great and Buster the Dog was very cute. We saw decent numbers of Hector's Dolphins, but also Penguins, seals,nAlbatross and Petrels. The boat was very comfortable and is excellent for sightseeing. This is a stunning part of New Zealand and a very well-run family business. Definitely worth the trip!
Hands down the best trip I've been on in my six weeks in New Zealand. Chops, Sarah, Michelle and of course Theo were absolutely amazing. The commentary was insightful and they were just lovely hosts! As a bonus we saw quite some wildlife which made this the best way to end my trip. The dogs as extra guide just make this tour extra special. Could not recommend this enough, especially if you're looking for an intimate, family owned and environmentally responsible company.
Sadly we were one of the 2% that didn't get to spot dolphins, but regardless we were treated to an awesome tour of this beautiful harbour. Our skipper was a delight, sharing loads of information and helping us spot seals feeding on rake, white flipper penguins and sea birds as well as sharing local and family history. The crew were lovely too and make you feel very comfortable and welcome with drinks and snacks. They also took good care of the handful of folk that weren't so used to the movement of the ocean. One of the best tours of its kind I've been on - certainly deserving of their recognition.
We had a fantastic time out on the Akaroa Dolphin boat today! Accompanied by “Buster 2”, Captain Joe and the lovely Michelle we saw 9 dolphins and many fur seals. The beverage and cookie served was such a nice touch that just added to an already amazing day. I would highly recommend!
