Sunrise - Scenic Harbour Tour

Join us on our daily 2.5 hour boat trip and explore the amazing scenery and wildlife while being treated to a unique early morning sunrise. With great photo opportunities, often the calmest weather conditions of the day and an uncrowded harbour. We limit our maximum number of guests to 8, the smallest numbers of guests of any commercial boat in Akaroa so you can be sure to have a personal and memorable experience.

Our company is 100 percent locally owned and operated and your vessel ‘Southern Wanderer’, a 7.6metre Stabi-Craft is fast, safe and comfortable, built in the South Island of New Zealand and designed to excel in our coastal sea conditions. All passengers can get inside the cabin and out of the weather if they wish and our cabin can be heated for your comfort on cool days.

Our trips depart at 7am daily from the Akaroa Main Wharf, and we focus on exploring the outer Akaroa Harbour surrounded by spectacular high cliffs and abundant wildlife. We will also navigate outside the harbour and visit some other local highlights including Scenery Nook, Damons Bay on days with suitable sea conditions.

You will be back on land at the main wharf before 10am leaving the rest of the day free for other activities or travel.

Your enjoyment and comfort is our main priority so if for any reason due to unfavorable weather conditions and we have to cancel we will give a full refund.

If your preference is to explore the harbour at another time of day, with your own group of friends, family or colleagues onboard, along with our professional skipper, we can tailor a trip to suit your needs. From $500 (from 1.5 hours to 3 hours duration).
