Went to the Ahipara ramp at 90 Mile Beach and it was a great experience. The views were stunning and it’s a perfect spot to enjoy the beach or start a scenic drive along the shore.
What a wonderful place to access the 90 mile beach. No hills to climb, just nice flat walking when the tide is out. A bonus to find a little Sunday Market selling food at the ramp.
Vehicle access to Beach via end Kaka Street, where you need to drive over some soft sand area before you cruise on 90 Miles Beach. The speed limit is 30km. 4WD or AWD recommended and need to watch the tides. So watch how far you drive down the beach, as there are not too many entry/exit points. Breathtaking experience and views
Rainbow beach!nI get to see and enjoy the rainbows almost every day. It is nice to start the day or sometimes end with.nnQuite, beautiful and unforgettable views. Very scenic & changes every minutes. You can sit down and spend hours just Looking at the ocean without getting bored. It’s a never ending view of the Northern end of the New Zealand. Especially on clear sky or windy day.nnWhether it is clear sky or cloudy, Sunrise and sunsets are totally different every day.nnOnly two things I noticed people should be aware of walking barefoot and taking kids for walks. Upon entering the beach from the public access to 90 mile beach to the right, there will be lotta broken beer bottles due to the ATVs running over it or the trucks or the cars. The other thing I witnessed is Watch out for dog poop! Especially small kids they step on it, they come home it’s all over the house or while they’re playing either a dried out or the fresh one will become their toy.nEvery time I see a dog pool or the broken beer bottles I take a minute or two and explain it to my kids about the dangers and How we can prevent it. They are the future shareholders And they should be educated when they’re small!
Stunning. Drive 4x4 or ride it on a quad bike. Fabulous experience with a really good sunset.
