Online distribution as I learned on the day of me and another temp getting fired is that it abuses temp contracts to make employees disposable for their own benefit. On the day of being let go my job agency received a message which stated it was because I was "slow" perhaps however not once was I told this when working there, apparently saving it until it could be used as a reason to fire a disposable temp employee is more constructive. The second story told within 10 min of the first, when asking my supervisor in person was different; he said they were letting a lot of employees go due to it being less busy in the upcoming weeks. Odd as these stories conflicted and they were hiring new Temps rapidly and consistently. When Amazon gained notoriety for treating their employees badly and as disposable it gained head lines. In comparison online distribution will never garner any media attention due to its relatively insignificant size, but that doesn't make it any different. This sentiment was echoed by other more experienced employees aswell who said "being treated this way was normal in these kinds of jobs". Still doesn't change the fact that being treated like a product with an unknown expiry date on it doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth.
If you thinking go this workplace, just don’t go. I personally went there through a recruiting company and managers their failed to give any instructions at all. They hiring casual employees from recruiting companies cause it’s much easy to fire them. Second day I got a message they don’t need me. Horrible workplace in South Island.
Absolutely terrible company to be a temp worker for.They promise the world then drop .pay terrible and work you hard.
