Story

AetherCon is a big annual steampunk convention in Auckland, to promote everything steampunk, from New Zealand, and around the world. AetherCon is New Zealand’s largest steampunk event. AetherCon was also in Wellington between 2012 and 2014.

There are lots of folks contributing displays, stalls of items for sale, and related activities as we think of them!
For sale: clothing, gadgets, clockworks, hats, books, jewellery, games (role-playing, and etcetera).
There will be workshops for getting started, character building, clothing choices and creation, gadget creation, a fashion parade and more.

AetherCon now has a “sister” event, CostumeFest; www.facebook.com/costumefest.

Convention Purposes:
• To promote the steampunk movement and culture to the general public, so they can find out what the steampunk movement is about; and to the existing steampunk community, so they can have resources to be more involved.
• To contribute to and consolidate the activities of other individuals and groups throughout New Zealand, to promote and strengthen the movement throughout the country.
