What a magical experience. Our guide Kenny was such a dude. He took the time to explain lots of cultural and historical facts of the Tongariro area.nnThe hike definitely wasn’t easy, but manageable. Really glad we booked a tour through Adrift to do the Tongariro Crossing hike! The guides were super friendly, kept us on pace, gave tips for navigating different terrains, and shared neat stories and history of the landscapes. Highly recommend booking and buying the lunch as it makes the entire experience very convenient and the lunch is substantial with snacks to eat along the way.
We did the Tongariro Alpine Crossing with this company and after returning home determined this was the most memorable experience from our entire 50 day journey. It was not an easy trek by any means but it was one of the most interesting and beautiful hikes we had ever done. Incredibly unique land scapes and challenging terrains made it so memorable.nnThe guides were great and all involved from making sure we were properly outfitted and for transportation to the location were pleasant and helpful.nnThanks for a great trip.nnJon Albanese and Debbie Doolittle.
We joined the Sunset walk and the Half-day walk. Both were fantastic!! Kass was an excellent guide for both tours. She turned the weather forecast from cloudy/rainy to fine! She was knowledgeable, her topics were wide-ranging, and she was a good singer; she must be an entertainer!!nnThank you for the wonderful days at Tongariro.
What an amazing day hike! Adrift were excellent in every way, from the booking process, to the arrival arrangements on the day, to getting us back from the end of the hike to the office to collect our cars. They checked what clothes and equipment we had and they had plenty of spares if we needed them. There was a full health & safety briefing before the walk. Our 2 guides, Kenny & Tommy were awesome. They encouraged those that were finding the hike a bit challenging, and gave us lots of information about the mountain. We walked a perfect pace and had plenty of stops along the way. I can’t rate Adrift highly enough! They made the whole experience one that I’ll cherish forever. Thanks Adrift Tongariro.
