Teachers don't care about your learning and are very disrespectful. Many teachers start to go off track 90% of the time during the middle of lessons and students are taught to only care about grades which is very unhealthy.
It is astounding that one of the worst schools in Aotearoa New Zealand is still open today, as the shaky three pillars that ACG Parnell stands on are money, deception and denial. ACG Parnell continues to deceive parents and students with their exaggerated achievements, when in fact, the school has not had any notable graduates in recent years, completely cancelled IB Diploma, and is filled with misinformed vapers and underage relationship scandals. Blatant lies about costs of student resources and trips are the least of the school's problems. Every good IB and Cambridge teacher has left ACG Parnell, and the 'teachers' who remain have very little educational expertise in academic subjects, but are forced to teach several subjects that they have no knowledge of. Whatever reasons for attending this school are remnants of ACG Parnell's past glory days between 2019 and 2022, which is a very short legacy made positive thanks to promising AIC students moving into the school due to their previous school shutting down because of the pandemic. There is no shape or form of any future to be found at this institution.
Waste of money. Teachers just give worksheets and tells us to do it without students knowing what to do. Paid to do worksheets, you can find the same thing on Google. Teachers don't care. A teacher in one of my classes gave us worksheets for the whole lesson and she was on her phone watching TikTok's. Teachers don't care about you or your education/learning, no wonder staff in the school are so lazy. They're getting paid with my money to do nothing and I learn nothing, might as well go to a public school.
Mid school if the teachers would actually teach I’d be down
Private school with lots of Asian students, good academy results but just felt like if we want our next generation to study so hard, why coming here while we can do it in our home town?
The Titoki campus has a no phones policy so I couldn't see if my bus was cancelled before leaving. Also, the absolutely legendary teachers of pastMr Fong and Mr Hitchings are no longer teching here.Davis campus has way too few amenities :
Worst school I’ve been to. Students are unfriendly and a lot of ppl will bully u and even if u try to tell the dean or the principal about it, they don’t believe u. The teachers don’t seem to care what the boys in the back do or say, even if it was a racial slur. Too crowded in the hallways and ppl act weird, not worth the price at all.
The right school for my son who is academic and not very sporty in fact, he wanted a school that did not focus on sport. It's been a huge jump coming from a public primary school into ACG Parnell, but he has learned more in the last 6 months than in the 6 years prior. There is a lot of homework, but over time students learn how to efficiently manage this and there are tests almost every week, and exams from Year 7... but what a great preparation for university years. Finally, as a parent I can see what he's learning and where he needs extra help. If you want your kid to go to a school that focuses on academic learning and extension of students, then send them here. If you want your child to go to a school that will be focusing more on "inquiry learning" and "child led learning", then this is not the right school for them. This school provides lots of clubs and extracurricular activities too - and their music, art and drama departments are awesome.
A fantastic school that pushes the students to achieve their academic best. Most students who have complaints would probably be better suited to a public school that pushed for sports and gives NCEA credits for riding a bike.
teachers here are disrespectful and do not care what students do or do not do unless they are disruptive. since joining my grades have dropped significantly due to the incompetence of my teachers .
