Story

Like you we at Abtec are Home & Car Audio enthusiasts

We asked around to discover what fellow enthusiasts like. So when we established our on-line shop we stocked Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic, Fusion and other famous and popular brands. And just so everybody’s provided for we recently added high-end DD Audio components to our on-line catalogue.

Would definitely recommend Awesome experience here on Monday! I got quoted $120 from a different place that wouldn’t even look at my stereo beforehand. Decided to come here and see if they could help, had a quick chat to a guy about what the issue was and he was quick to ask me if he could come outside and have a look, after doing so he grabbed some tools, pulled the stereo out, cut some wires and had it working perfect after 10 minutes! Turned out to be a pretty easy fix and he didn’t charge me for his time! I didn’t catch his name but I’m very appreciative! Great customer service, thanks so much!!
Totally Rip off. Very unprofessional and unfriendly service. No smile on face at all. Charged me $170 just to say "your stereo does not fit to your car" Paid $100 to other installer same day to fit in the same stereo in my car. Totally disappointed, advised to other people, Do not to go there if you care about your money.
Ordered some speaker parts on a Thursday, was told they would arrive by 10am Monday morning. Didn't hear anything on Monday, so I rang them up to see it they'd arrived and they said they'd give me a call back in a few minutes once they had checked. No call and no one was picking up the phone anymore. Since it was the end of the day, I assumed they'd be there by now and left work early to pick them up before the store closed. When I arrived, was told they hadn't arrived and would be there on Tuesday. Dropped into store again on Tuesday morning, got told the courier had them and they'd be dropped off later. Received no call, so I came back to the store at 5pm but they were already closed even though they advertise being open til 5:30. Came back Wednesday morning, was told they still hadn't arrived but would definitely be there that day. 4pm, still no call so I rang them and was again told they'd call me back in 5 minutes once they checked for them, an hour went by and nothing. When I called back again at 5pm since I knew the store would close soon, I was talked to extremely rudely by the same lady. After asking when she thought they'd arrived she got very angry and said "what do you want us to do about it? We don't control the courier". How about just basic communication for a start? I never blamed anyone at Abtec once for the delays so I'm not sure why she was so aggressive, I just wanted some communication around when my stuff would arrive. Absolutely disgusting behaviour towards a customer. I've been in retail over a decade and never heard anything like the way she talked to me. Usually customers get angry at us when things go wrong, not the other way round! I was being patient and kind until that point, even though I was meant to be on holiday in New Plymouth at the time but was instead waiting for the speakers to turn up; but needless to say after that I'll be buying speakers elsewhere. What a shame, it seemed like a cool store and I like supporting local business, but I don't see how they'll compete with online stores with service like that.

The younger customer service guy at the front isn't the friendliest but the technicians out the back are awesome and very knowledgeable. I'd come back again though based off the quality of the install. Thanks guys
Bad experience with after sales service. Been trying to get some replacement ear pads. Sent multiple emails and three phone calls. Each time was promised that I'd get a call back before the end of the day. Never called back. Emailed me a price but then didn't bother to follow up when I asked to go ahead. Was going to upgrade to the Bluetooth noise cancelling headphones with these guys but will go elseware.
The team at Abtec are amazing. Awesome help and installed some wicked as sounds in my Ute. Highly recommend
