I had such a great dinner here last week. The oysters were so fresh and I loved the burrata salad. My steak was cooked perfectly. A really nice atmosphere and not too loud.
The food was great. Friday night $20 fish and chips can’t be beat. Good selection of beers on tap too. However, they charged us $55 for the bottle of wine in the photo, which retails for $8.99 and tasted pretty bad. If you come here, avoid the wine at all costs due to the huge markup
Took advantage of the $20 Parma and it tasted good and if a decent size too. But, the accompanying salad was so bland, which simply was a green salad. No tomatoes, no onion and the very minimal of a dressing. No salt on the the chips either. My beer was a Balter XPA great citrus after taste schooner which was expensive at $13. Should have chosen with a lemon ,lime and bitters. The service was friendly, fast and efficient and our five meals came within minutes of each other. Could hardly hear the music if there was any. Toilets, although clean and neat and caters well for the males. The female toilets only had one cubicle I was told by my daughters. Weird. Not likely to return any time soon.
Thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday night dinner at the Toorak Hotel. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and of high quality. Paired with a reasonably priced Cabernet from a brief but intelligent wine list. It was excellent. Floor staff were friendly and capable. Will return and would recommend.
Great pub, with great food and super friendly staff make for a great experience. The owners have done such a great job with the refit. Probably the most comfortable dining room in any pub in Melbourne. Highly recommended.
I absolutely love the dining room out the back of the Toorak Hotel. Excellent service, ambiance, and décor love jazz grooves. It’s the sort of place that you can come alone or with a group of friends. I find myself here two or three times a week. The steaks are spot on - especially their scotch fillet medium rare. Wednesday nights are steak night and their sirloin is excellent.
Steak night! Toorak Hotel oozes sophistication, with a dark wood atmosphere. The loud rock background music however was more suited to a sports bar. Attentive staff shout out to Norwich quality food and a very pleasant house wine. Will be back.
Omg Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding and mushroom sauce. Just the best, Thank you
Nice local pub with a great mix of traditional pub feel with your more modern gastro pub type dining. Excellent happy hour that gets you on the door and the food keeps you there. Very tasty. Great selection of tap beers and always nice + warm.
Response to owner's response - You are continuing to give false information. One of your entrances has 2 steps and the other on the side has 1 large step and neither are accessible by wheelchair. Your response indicates that you have no idea about wheelchair accessibility. It is not 'easy' to lift a person in a wheelchair over a step that size and even if it is possible which it wasn't, it is actually a very serious safety hazard to do so. If you are serious about having an entrance with wheelchair access, please engage with an OT or consultant that can advise you on what is required. A ramp without the knowledge of what the safe incline needs to be is still a safety hazard so please if you are serious about getting a ramp, get the right advice first. In the meantime please stop providing false information and wasting people's time as mine and my family's was last night. Your premises are not wheelchair accessible. People in wheelchairs have enough challenges to deal with without having to deal with businesses not being honest. ----------------------------------------- Made a booking and we specifically asked if the restaurant was wheelchair accessible. Was given an enthusiastic ‘yes’ so made the reservation. Turned up to the restaurant to find no wheelchair accessible entrance so couldn’t even enter the premises. My partner went in and asked staff about a way in but was told there isn’t one Not even an apology, just an excuse that perhaps the person who took the booking didn’t know any better. Absolutely disgraceful on the part of restaurant management and a waste of my and my family’s’ time. This place gets a big thumbs down. Wheelchair accessibility: There is no accessible entrance for people in wheelchairs and worse than that, they lied when asked about it when we were making the reservation.
