Definitely a must visit! Quality is good and simply just too delicious. Very good service. Not cheap but definitely worth the price. I enjoyed everything except the chips, just not my type. The bread is way too good I ordered extra portions very thankful they allowed my request because it's not on the menu. Remember to make reservation because this place is popular!
This was our splurge meal of the trip. And it was totally worth it! You can tell that the dishes are made with quality ingredients and skilled cooking techniques. The porterhouse steak was uniformly medium rare. And sashimi was very fresh. Also, the wait staff were attentive and friendly. It’s more costly to dine here as opposed to other restaurants we have dined at in Tasmania, but no regrets.
Impressive menu! I loved dining here and would recommend my friends and family. You will be stuffed. The flavours worked well together and cooked to perfection so that the meat melts in your mouth. 5/5
SPLENDID!!! a good choice of the fine dining with a great experience in Port Arthur. Friendly, considerate and well-trained staff, it is no doubt that food is characteristic and specialty in Port Arthur. The delicate and exquisite 2 courses of the After Dark package including a ghost tour is absolutely unique experience that you’d ever never had like this.
With little choices in the area we made a visit here while staying in the Port arthur area. It was fantastic, the steak was perfectly cooked and so tasty! Also had the octopus and kingfish which was tasty also. Well worth trying
We had dinner at 1830 Restaurant with last minute booking during our trip to Port Arthur in June. The restaurant is inside the historic site building. Very friendly and helpful staffs. Food was delicious and service was great. Recommended.
Make sure to book ahead as tables are limited. Food was fantastic, staff were attentive and they made sure we were finished in time for our After Dark tour. Windows could have used a clean outside to see out over the Port Arthur site better in the late afternoon sunset, but this was a minor issue in an otherwise lovely dining experience.Food: 5/5
Such friendly staff and absolutely loved the food! Between 2 people what we ordered and what I personally recommend is listed below: ENTREES - Beetroot and Goat cheese Ravioli $24 ~ 12 pieces in total An absolute favourite! A sweet and savoury starter, the beetroot and goat cheese ravioli is topped with fried garlic, greens and sage butter. - Rannoch Farm Quail $24 A light starter, 2 pieces of quail paired with delicious mulberry glaze, pumpkin and ginger puree and some pear salad. The dish has great flavours, but between the two entrees, the ravioli would be my personal favourite. MAINS - Braised pork belly $38 The braised pork belly is one of the most tender pieces of pork belly I have ever eaten. It is paired perfectly with pea puree, lentils, apple gel and seared scallops. If you are a meat lover I would highly recommend this dish! - 300g Chargrilled King island scotch fillet $44 The medium-rare scotch fillet was served with big chips, salad and horseradish and herb butter. Very crunchy thick chips, a well balanced salad and buttery steak. DRINKS Classic drinks that have been pre-made and purchase from a third party, can't go wrong with these flavours. It would taste as you expect them to - Mango smoothie - non alcoholic ginger beer Kid-friendliness: An open and easy to access restaurant, child seating is available upon request. Parking: 1830 is located within Port Arthur's Historic Site, so there is plenty of parking available. If you park on level 1, you are only a few metres from the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: There are wheelchair ramps available and disabled parking that is located a few metres from the restaurant.
Oh my god. I can’t rave about this restaurant and it’s staff enough! The food was seriously delicious and you can tell that the staff love their jobs. It was the perfect way to end the night after the amazing ghost tour with Margaret. I didn’t want to leave!
I loved this place and the food was amazing. There is a view of Port Arthur see photo itself while eating your meal which just adds to the atmosphere. There is a Gold chain curtain that sheilds the busy kitchen from full view that just adds to the ambience beautifully. I would have gone back as would our group of 14 if they were open on Sunday night.
